Miitomo and My Nintendo are almost here Nintendo’s first mobile app,Miitomo, and its new rewards program,My Nintendo, are launching next month, the company’s Japanese leadership revealed in an investors meeting today. Miitomo, aTomodachi Life-esque social networking game, will launch in the middle of March on iOS and Android devices in 8 languages across 16 major markets, including the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and Japan. Nintendo plans to use the app as a link between consoles and smart devices for My Nintendo, the company’s successor to therecently-departed Club Nintendo program....

Over three million consoles moved in last quarter Sony Interactive Entertainmenthas released its financial resultsfor fiscal year ending June 21, 2025, which shows that its most recent hardware platform, PlayStation 5 (PS5), has smashed past 25 million global shipments since its initial launch in November 2020. Riot Games has apparently cancelled an in-development platform fighter calledPool Party. A report from Mikhail Klimentov (ReaderGrev) claims thatPool Partywould have had gameplay similar to Nintendo’sSmash Bros., set in theLeague of Legendsuniverse. There were around 70-80 developers working on the game before Riot Games sunsetted its development. It’s also suggested that Riot Games was working on a platform fighter because they saw potential in building an esports landscape around it....
