Dead Rising 4 will be exclusive to Microsoft platforms for one year

Fine In this era of immediacy, we don’t have to wait too long for companiesto break their silences— we can just bug them on Twitter. After being asked about the exclusive terms forDead Rising 4, which debuted at the Microsoft conference, Capcom Vancouver responded, “You’ll be able to play it first on Xbox One and Windows 10.” The rep didn’t specify if a PS4 port was in the cards when questioned, but the timed deal indicates that it is possible, and that it will most likely be available as a PC wide release outside of Windows 10 at worst....

[In Divnich Divines, EEDAR Vice President and videogame analystJesse Divnichtraverses the bogs of sales data, hype, and good old fashioned game geekery to give you his two cents on hot topics in the game industry] It seems to be a dilemma as old as the modern entertainment industry itself. E3 09: Hands-on with Overlord 2

I love me someOverlord. I might not love itas much as Jim doesbut I think it would be a close race as to who has a bigger tent for the upcoming sequel. Now that I’ve had an opportunity to play it on the show floor at E3, I’m even more excited than ever. Hit the jump and check out why it feels so good to be so bad. If you haven’t playedOverlord— and you should, since you can pick it up for either 360 or PS3 for under $20 now — the basic gist of the gameplay is as follows: Control a horde of evil gibbering minions and use them to wreak havoc over all that you survey....

EA Access subscribers now have Titanfall 2

Fresh meat incoming Titanfall 2is now a part of EA Access and Origin Access,as promised. It’s freely playable for members. Assuming you’ve held onto your subscription (or are thinking of trialing it one of these days), this game’s cool. You should take the time to clear some space, download it, and get into mech-on-mech shootouts sooner than later. If nothing else, run through the campaign during this way-too-hot weekend. The timing here is nice, especially if you’re the sort of player to skip competitive multiplayer....

EVE Online developer is “intrigued,” but ultimately saying no to NFTs and blockchain for now

“NFT stands for ‘Not for Tranquility’” TheEVE OnlineNFT and blockchain integration stance from developer CCP seems clear: it’s not happening anytime soon for the MMO. CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson published a blog todaydetailing their stance on blockchain and NFT integration forEVE Online: or rather, the lack thereof. Like pretty much every major publisher who has investors and parent companies to worry about — constantly needling them for a stance — CCP eventually drew a line in the sand....

Ex-Criterion devs announce Danger Zone 2 and Dangerous Driving

Burnout (sort of) lives! Three Fields Entertainment, a developer made up of ex-Criterion Games staff members, released thereally goodDanger Zonelast year. It was a resurrection of theBurnoutseries’ “Crash” mode and was filled to the brim with potential for greater things. It really just needed more content, possibly some multiplayer and a change of scenery to liven up the experience. Thankfully, everything I mentioned seems to be coming in the two new titles that Three Fields has just announced (minus the multiplayer)....

Giveaway: Strategize your attack for a free Steam copy of Frozen Synapse 2

Let’s heat things up a little Some people like to charge straight into battle, guns blazing, to take out as many foes as they can before going down for the final count. I totally get that — it’s cathartic to run into the fray like a madman and cause mayhem in that short, glorious moment of time. Horizon Zero Dawn gets a gorgeous cinematic story trailer

We’re getting to that uncanny valley, however I just can’t get over how gorgeousHorizon Zero Dawnis. Whether or not it’s going to be a great experience overall is still up in the air, but I’m glad it’s so, so pretty. Sony released a new trailer showing off some of the game’s story cinematics and, naturally, it raises more questions than it answers. We get a look at theZero Dawn‘s villain group (a bunch of masked individuals looking to rile up the joint), more of Aloy’s tribe, and the player’s going to fight a bunch of corrupted robot animals (still one of coolest ideas ever)....
