Star Citizen breaks the $40 million barrier

That’s an extra $10 million in four months Last time we checked,Star Citizenhadraised $30 million in crowdfunding; just under four months later we’ve got word that Chris Robert’s ambitious space sim has now broken the $40 million mark. In a blog post, Roberts revealed that an extra 10,000 new citizens have signed up for the game but it’s unclear if all of them are actually putting money into the project. Still, it’s an impressive number and it’s fascinating to see the support for the game carry on and on into 2014....

Steel Battalion has fashionable pre-order bonuses

It’s humorous to see these newly announced pre-order incentives forSteel Battalion: Heavy Armor. So far, everything Capcom has shown points toward a ratherbleak-looking gamefilled with death and destruction. You know what it could use? Brightly colored vertical tanks that justpop. Not that the same criticism can’t be said of many other games as well, but it seems particularly worth commenting about here given the tone ofHeavy Armor. Three retailers —Amazon,Best Buy, andGameStop— each have their own set of armor....

There’s a devious Mario Maker war going on between two well-known games journalists

And it’s all for charity We’ve seenMario Makerbring out the insidiousin people. Plenty of folks are creating levels that are downright devilish. These Street Fighter II iPhone cases look a lot better than that lame OtterBox

Yes, always continue The millions of different cases out there in the wild for iPhones were definitely integral in my decision to make that pricey purchase after my Android phone bit the dust, and every time I see new phone cases I covet I feel like I did the right thing. That, and the silicone Game Boy cases I buy off eBay for $2 apiece in every cover of the rainbow....

Boldly naming planets that no man has named before! No Man’s Skyis a game that I hold in high regard now lately for a lot of reasons. However, back when I originally reviewed the game for a channel me and my friends started I absolutely tore into it for all the numerous and very obvious issues. A little over a year later, though, I’d revisitNo Man’s Skyin my veryfirst videofor Destructoid and I had a far, far better experience with it....

Valve database lists Left 4 Dead 3, Half-Life 3 teams

A breakdown of who’s working on what Yesterday’s discovery ofValve’s trademark ofHalf-Life 3in Europe didn’t do much for me. This latest story, however, is an entirely different matter. The company’s JIRA database for project management was publicly accessible for long enough that people could notice. And notice they did —the database has groupsforHalf-Life 3,Left 4 Dead 3, and Source 2, to name a few. ForHalf-Life 3, it appears as if development is ramping up....
