People are actually playing Evolve again

Staging up? Evolve, a game that was left for dead by all accounts, has had new life breathed into it. Servers are no longer ghost towns, as players are playing again. Like, a respectable number of people. It’s amazing what making your game completely free can do. The reason for this resurgence is because Turtle Rock and 2K Games re-branded and relaunchedEvolveasEvolve Stage 2. The moniker firmly states that the game that launched in February of 2015 is a thing of the past....

Gotta lot of work to do, then The idea of the console war — that the big console makers are locked in this all-or-nothing struggle for hearts and minds — has gotten sillier as I’ve gotten older. Still, Xbox head honchoPhil Spencer has told Game Informerhe wants to win this generation’s console war. Go Phil! “At some level, it is a competition, and I’ve said before I want to win,” he explained....

Pixiedust #1: Hello!

Thoughts from the community team! I should probably be working on the monthly recap right now, but I’m still a bit under the weather and off my sleep cycle. You can expect it to be up in the community blogs sometime soon. That said, I thought I’d take a page from Strider and Occams’ books and start doing some more conversational-style blogs. Then Niero saw this after I originally posted it and said this would be a cool thing to have on the front page....

Preview: The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition on the Xbox 360

So it’s finally almost here. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings:Enhanced Editionwas released exclusively for the PC last year and, despite a few anomalies, received high review scores from bothcritics and users, as well as receiving an abundance of awards. TheEnhanced Editionis now being released for Xbox 360 with a whole bunch of extra stuff added in just in case you needed another reason to give it a try. Prototype Mansion is a grainy, goofy nod to Resident Evil

Tank controls optional Prototype Mansionpresents itself as a bargain-bin disc. Its box art isn’t art at all, really, it’s just more a callback to the kinds of games you’d find at a thrift store or yard sale; a plain plastic CD case, conspicuously missing any front-facing inserts. A yellow price sticker tags the bottom of the image, suggesting this game could be yours for two bucks. The problem is that it’s impossible to know what, exactly, the gameis....

Rainbow Moon coming to PS Vita in 2013

Because people were apparently demanding it,Rainbow Moonwill see its strategic role-playing way to the PS Vita. Publisher EastAsiaSoft announced in a press release today that they will be publishing the title on Sony’s handheld next year. Looks like a cute little game, but I’ve never been good (or patient) enough when it comes to these mechanics to have much hope of enjoyment out of it.Our reviewwas lukewarm on the title, though it seems to have done fairly well for itself in its PS3 release and maybe it will fare better on the smaller screen, where short bursts of opportunity play reduce the risk of getting burned out....
