Team Coasters for life [Art by3D Rod.[ Splatoon‘s second U.S. Splatfest is over, and this time, skill won out over popularity. Afterthe enormous upset that was the Cats Vs. Dogs contest, it’s nice to see superior play (and the superior Squid Sister) come out on top. That’s not to say that Team Water Slides didn’t put up a valiant effort. This was a close game on all counts. In the end, Team Roller Coasters lost the popular vote, with 46% percent of players on their side, but won 53% of the matches, which was enough for them to take the overall victory, with a final score of 152 to 148....

The Unfinished Swanis coming to PlayStation 4 and Vita next week, Sony revealed today. The first-person puzzler will retail for $15/€13/£10 and supports cross-buy, meaning if you purchased the game before on PS3 you can go ahead and download it for free on the new platforms. The Unfinished Swantells a story about a boy who cases after a swan that escapes from an unfinished painting in his room, only to find himself in a surreal world....

This year’s Tokyo Game Show could be the biggest (and sweatiest) yet. We already know that 1,592 booth units have been reserved for the show floor, and that 171 companies plan to show off their wares, with 68 coming from overseas All of these numbers are up quite a bit from last year. Mass Effect and Dragon Age are gone If you frequent the BioWare forums, you better sit down. Over the weekend, the publisher explained that everything outside of theStar Wars: The Old Republicforums will be shut down. That includesMass Effect,Dragon Age— everything. The closure is expected to roll out on August 26, and will transition into read-only capabilities until October 25. Saying that there are a lot of Halo toys at Comic-Con is kind of like remarking that there’s a lot of half-ass cosplayers and inappropriate body odor — if you’ve been, you already know. Still, there is definitely a lot for the Halo fan to choose from at this year’s show, and everyone from McFarlane to Previews had something to show. We also spotted some other figures of interest at the McFarlane booth: both the Guitar Hero figures and the new Call of Duty series were on display, looking mighty fine....

Woah, Forbes guy. Calm down. In fact, everyone needs to calm down with the doom and gloom for the new PSP successor. It’s a little early to be saying that Sony is in “big trouble” with the PlayStation Vita. Yes, Sony’s new portable did not have a great second week following launch. To be fair, there was nothing good about Vita’s week two and its weak 72,479 units sold. Even the old, tired, and outgoing Wii outsold the Vita that week....
