The Enchanted Cave 2

I’m struggling to stop playingThe Enchanted Cave 2for long enough to tell you about it. Unassuming name and overabundance of roguelikes aside, this browser-based game is terrific.

You delve into a cavern in search of gold, gear, and experience but here’s the trick: only certain items can be brought back to the surface. And you need a special item to escape in the first place. Combat is tile-based in classic “mash against a monster until someone dies” fashion. There’s skill trees, crafting, and did I mention the music? It’s typical Kirkhope. Amazing.

If you’re coming in as a veteran of the original game, prepare for quite the upgrade.
