You may have heard that I’m already deep into the dungeons ofEtrian Odyssey III, playing it for review. I liken this game to crack for its addictiveness, and that can be attributed an odd combination of features and my own personal tastes. I really like dungeon crawlers, for one. I also love the game’s steady and stern difficulty level. Those alone would be odd in the eyes of many. But I also like drawing maps. EO3 lets me do all of that at the same time.
This game will rope in and tie down any of the obsessive set. If you’re like me you’ll quickly find yourself drawn into making the best map possible. I get into it so much that I forget I’m supposed to be dungeon crawling. My maps are meticulous and lovely. I wish there was a DS printer so that I could print them out and admire them.
