Thanks to some changes toNBA 2K25‘s MyCareer mode, choosing your team is more important than ever as the pros are now up for trade again. If you have played the previous NBA games, MyCareer allowed you to request a trade after the first season. Veteran fans may remember it as a handy feature for many reasons.
For instance, when you begin your MyCareer save, you usually pick a team where you have the best chance of becoming a starter. When things didn’t go according to plan, a trade was beneficial. This year, however, the same privilege isn’t available as of writing.
WillNBA 2K25MyCareer mode get a trade request?
It’s impossible to know what plans Visual Concepts and 2K have for the future regarding the ability to request a trade. I did check if you may request a trade after you complete your second season, and as perthis video, you can’t.
It’s really a sad part because if the existing system remains intact, you can’t change the squad team you choose. I definitely didn’t know this information, and I went with the Bucks as my starter (because it’s easy to establish yourself as a C). With Lillard and Antetokounmpo by my side, I am more than happy now.
However, some sides are a lot inferior when it comes to squad quality. It might be challenging for some to win a ring if they choose a team like the Wizards, for example. With no possible way to change teams, the only alternative is to start an alternate build – this is really inefficient, especially if you have spent your VCs on the existing build.
How to influence trade in NBA 2K25 MyCareer
While you can’t get yourself traded inMyCareer, you could still help in improving the squad over time. This is best done by unlocking the ability to influence trades. In simpler terms, you’ll be able to request your GM to make possible moves for another athlete. But this feature needs to be unlocked first.
Do note that not all trade requests are meant to be fulfilled. In fact, realistic trade proposals will have a greater chance of happening rather than asking your GM to bring Victor Wembanyama.
