One of the people I’m most looking forward to meeting atthis year’s MAGFestis Kinuyo Yamashita, the legendary game composer we all have to thank for making the originalCastlevaniasound so damn good. Her work can also be heard on such titles asPower Blade,Parodius,Pocky & Rocky, andMega Man X3.
Speaking ofX3, Yamashita-san uploaded a video to her YouTube account last week, in which she performs a piano arrangement of Blizzard Buffalo’s theme with a dash of Zero’s theme for good measure. It’s classy and beautiful, and I want more! To hear game tunes I grew up listening to performed by the actual composer is such a wonderful sensation.
I hope she plays some piano pieces at MAGFest! Let’s hear some “Vampire Killer”!
