SNK’s official YouTube channel just released a trailer showing both the man himself and his in-game appearance, and it’s wild. From what we see, Ronaldo will have a ball, and his moveset will be inspired by actualfootballsoccer acrobatics. I must say, however, that I was surprised to see how he seemingly fights with shoulder charges instead of his hands — like a true soccer legend should.
Ronaldo also obviously features the famous SIUUU animation as a victory celebration.
For those unaware, Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese soccer player who rose to prominence in the early ’00s and stayed at the top for, well, until just a few years ago.
Ronaldo exploded in Manchester United, where he became arguably the best attacking midfielder in the world. He then joined Real Madrid, where he became arguably the best forward in the world. At 40 years old, Ronaldo’s still playing for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, where he’s attempting to break the 1,000-goal career mark before retiring.
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most famous people in the world, though his career is not free from controversy. The player had to settle out of court after serious accusations of sexual assault from aLas Vegas encounter in 2009.
Why is Ronaldo in Fatal Fury?
This almost feels like the video game version ofSpace Jam, and that’s not out of nowhere. Saudi Arabia has been making a huge push to rehabilitate its image in the West and has brought numerous high-end sporting events to the country to that end. Saudi Arabia has also acquired SNK, the makers of theFatal Furyseries, so it’s likely they brought in Ronaldo as a part of that big push.
Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolvesand Ronaldo will come out on April 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
