Talking with CVG,Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli says the studio has plans forCrysis 3, but only if we all rush out to buyCrysis 2first.
“We definitely want to makeCrysis 3,” he says. I’m not making a formal announcement. We’d like to makeCrysis 3but the second game needs to be successful first. I will mention that there is a plan for how the fiction ofCrysisshould roll out, but again, it depends on the success ofCrysis 2.”
Well, yeah, that’s generally how sequels get made. More interesting to me was a quote where Yerli stated“if it sells anywhere near whatBlack Opshas, there may be more fromCrysis.” If that’s the end goal, I’m afraid Crytek issetting itself upfor disappointment.
