This game is right in Blomkamp’s wheelhouse
It’s a treat to see Neill Blomkamp do more Neill Blomkamp stuff, even if it’s in a limited capacity.
EA tapped theDistrict 9andChappiedirector to lead the charge on a live-action prequel short forAnthem, BioWare’s jetpack-boosting shared-world shooter. It’s just a few minutes in length, but as Blomkamp was quick to admit, those three-and-a-half minutes “took a lot of effort to make.”
On whether or not anything more will come of Oats Studios’Anthempartnership, the director simply said “I guess if audiences like it.” Purely visually speaking, I’d be interested in seeing more, but I’m not invested in any characters yet. Maybe we’ll get a round of shorts? Take it one step at a time.
