This game looks amazing.Duelyst, which I’m too in awe of to poke at the “y” in the title, started as a tabletop game that the team at newly formed Counterplay Games decided to turn into a videogame.

That vision has come stunningly to life thanks in large part toRogue Legacylead artist Glauber Kotak. I’m scrolling through theKickstarter campaigngawking at the wondrous pixel art and animations as well as the concept and environmental art. Talk about unique fantasy. And those Assassin classes are all the best classes.

It’s not all looks, either. The team is headed by Keith Lee, former lead producer onDiablo IIIand lead progammer at Insomniac (Resistance: Fall of Man,Ratchet and Clank: Up Your ArsenalandGoing Commando).

The tactical turn-based play focuses on map positioning in fast-paced, one on one battles, rather than excessive grinding, which sounds good to me. Turn-based strategy can get ruined when it’s just a big numbers game. Plus there will be online mutliplayer. Yeah. I’m excited for this one.
