‘I have created the devil himself’

When word broke thatthis year’sCall of Dutywould be set during World War II, everyone knew what that meant for Zombies mode. The wave-after-wave horde mode is such a staple ofCall of Dutythat Activision doesn’t dare cut it. And, the setting is ripe for those zombies to also be Nazis. They’re twice as evil so you don’t have to feel bad about killing them a second time.

Today, Activision released the first official trailer forWWII‘s Nazi Zombies, and goddamn it looks fantastic. The trailer is light on shooting and heavy on Frankenstein’s evil laboratory vibes. As easy as it’d be to take a campy approach to zombies that are also Nazis, developer Sledgehammer seems to have something that’s grimdark and serious.
