Customization is a huge part ofBaldur’s Gate 3. In fact, your time in the character creation screen can turn into hours as there are so many customization options. BecauseBaldur’s Gate 3runs on theDungeons & Dragons 5Eruleset, dice rolling is a big part of the action RPG. When you perform a dice roll, a fancy and clean interface pops up to highlight the details of your roll. Therefore, you may be wondering how to change the Dice skin inBaldur’s Gate 3.

Interestingly enough, you have to be performing a dice roll to change the skin of your Dice. Once you are engaged in a roll, look for a button in the bottom left that allows you to change your Dice skin inBaldur’s Gate 3. Once you click it, a menu will pop up that lets you change between the Die Designs you have unlocked.

If you are having trouble finding the button, simply look at the screenshot above. Thankfully, once you’ve changed your Dice skin, it saves for future dice rolls as well.

How to unlock more Dice skins

By default, you only have the dark gray Scuffed Metal Dice skin unlocked. Players who have purchased the Collector’s Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition ofBG3will also have access to the Dragonflame Red Die Design. For now, these are the only two Dice skins I have seen.

For now, it doesn’t appear possible to unlock more Dice Designs via in-game progress. That being said, mod support is a big part ofBG3so it’s very likely that modders will add custom Dice skins overtime. Furthermore, it’s possible Larian Studios will add more skins either via updates or DLC as they continue to support and update the RPG.
