PEAK’sMesa biome is one of the toughest the game has to offer. Even if you make it past random dynamite explosions and the biome’s enemies, the sun is a constant threat. That is, unless you stick to the shade or get your hands on items like the parasol.

Where to find the Parasol in PEAK

you may obtain parasols inside luggage bags inPEAK. Although you can obtain a parasol anywhere, you’re most likely to find one within theMesa biome, a desert map that constantly cooks your character unless you get your hands on this item.

The parasol appears as a bright, colorful umbrella. It isn’t a mystical item, so you can find it in any luggage bag type. Your best option is to open as many luggage bags as possible, particularly white and bright orange ones, in hopes that you’ll get lucky and spot a parasol among the bunch. Unfortunately, it’s possible to get unlucky and not see one at all, even after opening multiple luggage bags, so luck does factor into whether you find one.

Unlikemany other items inPEAK, it won’t break instantly if dynamite explodes nearby. Instead, it’ll become well-done, but otherwise still be usable for the rest of your playthrough. You don’t have to worry about losing it if you open some luggage and find unexpected dynamite inside.

How to use the Parasol in PEAK

The parasol is a multi-use item that protects you from the sun in the Mesa biome and acts as a glider to reduce your fall damage. As long as you have it open, burning effects from the Mesa’s sun won’t apply to you unless you close it while climbing or swap to another item.

The other upside to using the parasol appears while falling. If you have it open while falling, you’ll slowly glide down and take zero fall damage. It has unlimited uses, giving you multiple opportunities to save your life if you’re about to take a lethal fall and manage to open it before hitting the ground.

However, there are some downsides. You have to keep it open to receive its benefits. You’ll close it if you attempt to climb a mountain’s ledge or swap to another item, making you vulnerable to fall damage and the sun’s burning effects on Mesa. Otherwise, it’s a powerful and life-saving item that, unlike most others, has infinite durability and unlimited uses.
