Killing Floor 3‘s launch on PC and consoles has been reasonably smooth so far, but some users have reported coming across a Server Connection Lost message when attempting to join the multiplayer game.

The new shooter from Tripwire allows you to play solo or in a squad. While a persistent network connection is mandatory, you’ll have to join a server when playing in a squad. You can do so by forming a squad with strangers or by matchmaking with your friends. If you can’t join the server, however, you won’t be able to start and complete a round.

Killing Floor 3 Server Connection Lost error fix

The Server Connection Lost error message pops up whenever you lose access to the server you’re playing on. This can occur either between rounds or when attempting to join a server. The first step is to ensure that your network is working as intended. There is a chance that the servers might undergo routine maintenance in the future.

However, the error can also pop up when your internet is working as usual. This happened to me as I have been busy trying to join a multiplayer lobby. One potential solution is to just keep trying until you can get into a lobby. However, I have figured out a workaround that you can try temporarily.

When you go to the terminal, don’t start a round in the first lobby. In simpler words, don’t select the starting point on the map, and choose any other region. I have tried this method a few times, and it worked on all attempts. There seems to be an easy explanation that the servers in the starter map are most probably all full lobbies at this point.

We should get the feature to choose and join the servers we want (we have that feature inKilling Floor 2). For the time being, it’s best to try out different maps if you’re unable to join a new round on multiplayer. Alternatively, you can make alobby with friendsand try a new round, as that doesn’t seem to be affected by full lobbies.
