The Eagle Cluster Bomb drops an explosive line of freedom onto the battlefield inHelldivers 2, and it can be incredibly efficient at killing enemies in the right hands.
There are Stratagems for everyone inHelldivers 2. Whether you’re looking for something to cause thebiggest explosion you’ve ever seen, deploy a strategic minefield, or a well-aimed laser that obliterates structures and foes alike, there’s something for everyone. However, not all Stratagems, like the Eagle Cluster Bomb, are easy to use, and take time to understand before you can get the most kills out of them.
How to use the Eagle Cluster Bomb inHelldivers 2
The best way to use the Eagle Cluster Bomb inHelldivers 2is as a line of defense against incoming waves of enemies. When foes approach you in a huge group, calling in this Stratagem will trigger a field of small explosives to be shot down from your ship. They’ll hit and detonate on the ground in the general vicinity of the beacon you lay, meaning pretty much anything close to it will be obliterated.
This Stratagem can be part of Personal Orders that get handed out each day, requiring you to hit a certain number of kills using it. To maximize your kills and hit those Personal Orders quickly, you should look for patrols and groups of enemies that you’re able to hit with the Eagle Cluster Bomb. Automaton Fabricators are good, and unsuspecting Terminids in nests are also a great way to rack up a lot of kills quickly. If something big is chasing you down, throw this Stratagem at it and run because it should put it down pretty quickly.
You should also attempt to deploy the Eagle Cluster Bomb when enemies are chasing you down. On higher difficulty modes, I have hordes of enemies hunting me down. This Stratagem thins them out and makes them manageable with a Machine Gun or Stalwart. But you have to be precise and avoid the explosions yourself. Otherwise you’ll be dropping a new Helldiver. Trust me, I’ve done this far too many times.
A word of warning: this Stratagem isn’t great when you’re waiting for the Pelican. It causes explosions in a very wide area, and that could lead to you accidentally killing a fellow Helldiver at the last second. If you absolutely have to use it, drop it just as you enter the Pelican so you don’t get caught in the blast.

To get the Eagle Cluster Bomb inHelldivers 2, you must purchase it from the Stratagem tab in the Ship Management menu. It costs 4,000 Requisition Slips, so it’s not too pricey and is one of the first upgrades on the Precision Orbital Strike you should pick up. This Stratagem packs more of a punch than you might first think, so it’s well worth having in your arsenal in case a Personal Order for it pops up.

Thebest overall loadoutfor any player inHelldivers 2is one that works for them, and they’re comfortable using. However, there are certain Stratagems that work well with the Eagle Cluster Bomb that you should consider bringing along. I’ve outlined what these are below.
After deploying an Eagle Cluster Bomb, it doesn’t hurt to also call in anAnti-Personnel Minefieldto put a barrier between you and anything that survives. The Stalwart is a solid weapon for making mincemeat of enemies that rush over their dead to reach you, and the Lift-850 Jump Pack will help you escape if they get too close.
When it comes to weapons and gear for your loadout, you should pick what you tend to get more kills with. These have no bearing on how well the Eagle Cluster Bomb will perform. However, your play style will so try to keep back from the Stratagem as it triggers and rush in afterward to pick off any stragglers that it didn’t quite kill.
