Maple Syrup is not just a sticky sweet treat inStardew Valley, it’s a very useful resource when crafting and cooking. Here’s how to get it, as well as every way that it can be used in the cozy farming sim.

As you might expect, Maple Syrup comes from Maple Trees inStardew Valley, just as it does in real life. However, before you can get syrup, you’ll need to find the right trees, and then get a Tapper.

Once you’ve done both of those things, you’ll be able to get Maple Syrup and begin using it in your crafting or for other things.

How to spot a Maple Tree in Stardew Valley

Maple Trees look very similar to Oak Trees inStardew Valley, except there are gaps in the leaves and the trunk is slightly more wonky. They grow in Spring, Summer, and Fall. The picture above shows what a Maple Tree looks like in-game during each of its growing seasons.

How to get a Tapper in Stardew Valley

There are two different types of Tappers inStardew Valley, both of which can be attached to any tree to get a few different resources:

How to use Maple Syrup in Stardew Valley

Maple Syrup is a liked gift for allvillagersexcept Maru, who dislikes it. With this in mind, it doesn’t make a great gift, but it is especially useful for twoBundles at the Community Center, each of which allows you to hand in 1 Maple Syrup as one of the options:

Recipes

Maple Syrup can be used to cook Maple Bars, which not only provide a good amount of both health and energy, but also provide a+1 buff to Farming, Fishing, and Mining. The recipe is as follows:

Crafting

Maple Syrup is a resource needed to craft Bee Houses, which are your route to themoney-making properties of Honey. You’ll need the following resources to make one:

Tailoring

When placed into the spool of aSewing Machine, Maple Syrup will produce the Floppy Beanie hat. It can also be used in dyeing and will count as an orange dye when put into the dye pots in Emily and Haley’s house.

Quests

The only notable quest requiring Maple Syrup is the “Strange Note” quest, triggered by readingSecret Note #23. To complete this quest, simply place some Maple Syrup in your inventory and head to theSecret Woodsbetween 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Doing so will reward you with “Bear’s Knowledge,” which permanently triples the number of Blackberries and Salmonberries that can be foraged from bushes.
