Mario Kart Worldhas arrived, and with it, there are a bunch of new characters to unlock, ranging from the classic characters to a bunch of NPCs you wouldn’t normally expect to see in one of these games.

There are a huge number of characters available from the get-go, but there are a few you will need to complete certain tasks to unlock or find them through special means. A full list of characters and how to unlock them includes the following:
There are also a bunch of NPC characters you wouldn’t normally unlock that are mainly locked behind the new Kamek item you’re able to find in races. When used, it transforms all racers into a random NPC that will be unlocked for everyone. It’s random which transformation you will get, but here’s a full list of the ones available.
The character list doesn’t include costumes, which can be unlocked by playing that character and finding different food items in the overworld or while in a race. Doing so will unlock a costume at random and each character has a couple each to collect.
