David Hayter? More like David Hater!
David Hayter, the original voice of Solid Snake, has some choice words for his old boss, Hideo Kojima.
On a recent episode ofThe Game Informer Show, Hayter discussed his time as Solid Snake, as well as being replaced by Kiefer Sutherland inMetal Gear Solid V. Apparently Kojima had tried to get a different voice actor for the character sinceSnake Eaterand even (unsuccessfully) offered the role to Kurt Russell, whose character inEscape from New York,Snake Plissken, served as the inspiration for Solid Snake.

Hayter explains he’s been asked by fans if he was going to playThe Phantom Pain. His response? “Yeah. That’ll be 60 hours of humiliation that I can’t get to. I haven’t played the latest two iterations because it’s just too painful.”
When asked if he would work with Kojima again, Hayter made it clear that won’t be happening, “I’ve got no particular love for Kojima. I don’t feel any need to go back and work with him again.” I remember my first breakup too. It sucked.
