After Bethesda’s parent company, ZeniMax, was purchased by Microsoft, plenty wondered if games like Starfield would end up on platforms like the PlayStation 5. That question waseventually answered, of course.Starfieldand many up-and-coming Bethesda games will launch only on PC and Xbox platforms. But will it be onallXbox platforms? The game exists on the Series consoles, but is Starfield also on Xbox One?
The answer is a solidkinda.
The console generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 call home has been a tough one for publishers. For the most part, companies seemed hesitant to launch on only current-gen devices, opting to still release games on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It makes sense that there are some feeling unsure ifStarfieldended up on Microsoft’s last-gen machine along with the PC and Series X|S consoles.
Starfieldis on Xbox One, but not in the way you think
It does come with a caveat, however. I’ve played my fair share of Xbox cloud games whenever I’ve traveled, and latency can be a real buzzkill. Even in the best conditions, you’ll likely still notice a delay in your action and what happens on screen. It might not be enough to dissuade you from playing, but it’s something to keep in mind. If the delay is unacceptable, you’re able to try getting the game to run onthe Steam Deck. Good luck.
