Wind him up and watch him go

Size Five Games’Lair of the Clockwork Godwill be hitting PS4 next week. The genre-blended adventure will be made available to download from the PlayStation Store on November 6, following on from its PC release in February, and its Xbox One and Switch ports back in September.

Lair of the Clockwork Godis the next entry in Size Five’s “Dan and Ben” games, and can be considered a pseudo-sequel/ spin-off toBen There, Dan ThatandTime Gentlemen, Please –though the developer notes thatLair of the Clockwork Godis a standalone title, and can be enjoyed regardless of the player’s experience with previous releases. In this latest escapade, The duo must prevent “all of the apocalypses” by “teaching an old computer about feelings.” I just report it, folks.

In order to pick their way through this epic adventure, Dan and Ben must rely on their respective skills to overcome any challenges in their path. Ben is a point-and-click fan, and as such has mastered the (Lucas)arts of item gathering, puzzle-solving, and disc-swapping (probably). Ben’s pal Dan is all about modern indie platformers, and so is more comfortable traversing to out-of-reach spots and leaping chasms. Players must synchronize both characters’ skills to progress through each area and, ultimately, save everybody’s ass from Armageddon. So hop to it, because I’ve got big plans for 2021.
