Hold the phone! After word got out fromZeldaproducer Eiji Aonuma thatthe star of the E3 videomightnot be malein next year’s Wii U game, the internet was set ablaze with rumors and speculation. All of that comes to an end though with this final confirmation from Aonuma — that comment was made in jest.

MMGN had a chanceto chat with the man himself, who noted that, “actually, [I made that comment] jokingly. It’s not that I said that it wasn’t Link. It’s not really the same thing, but I can understand how it could be taken that way. But my intent in saying that was humor. You know, you have to show Link when you create a trailer for aZeldaannouncement.”

He doesn’t want people to focus on Link’s appearance, because “ultimately Link represents the player in the game.” So there you have it.
