[Update: Tim Schafer of Double Fine has contacted us to explain the mysterious video. “It’s an art tech test out of context. Not images from the game. Part of a larger post on our DFA backer forums.” Unfortunately not a part of a new project, but neat nonetheless!]

What appears above is a video which was uploaded to a Vimeo account connected to the Twitter account of Double Fine Productions, which sent out an automated tweet once the video published. The video and the tweet have both since been removed but not before it was snatched up andretweeted, proving once again that nothing ever escapes the internet once released.

The video itself is, well… it’s something. I don’t know exactly what, however. The thirty second clip features no audio, just an animation of a a gentleman walking through a forest foreground, then walking up a path to a cottage. Judging by his facial hair, cap and flannel, I’m assuming he’s a woodcutter by trade, but that’s just me guessing.

Could this be early, rough footage of the upcomingDouble Fine Adventureor perhaps something else altogether? It could just be the errant uploading of someone who happened to be logged in to the wrong account or it could be much, much more. The possibilities are endless!
