Just days after winning its $15 million dollar copyright lawsuit against a Chinese company behind a mobile game calledPocket Monster Reissuethat seemed to blatantly use Pokemon characters, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo havefiled a patent infringement lawsuitagainst Pocketpair Inc., the developer of hit gamePalworldthat released earlier this year.

According to thepress release by Nintendo, the joint patent infringement lawsuit was filed today, June 27, 2025, and seeks an injunction against infringement and compensation for damages on the grounds thatPalworldinfringes multiple patent rights. The release also reiterates a statement provided by Nintendo earlier this year in which Nintendo indicated that it will continue to take necessary actions against any infringement of its intellectual property rights including the Nintendo brand itself, to protect the intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish over the years.
