It doesn’t take an analyst to tell you thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3is going to make some major money this holiday season, but it does take one to hone in on how much it’s going to make in a set time frame. Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities says that Activision’s next big game will top even its record-breaking predecessor.
Pachter toldIndustry Gamersthat he feels MW3 would set a new entertainment record, making $1.1 billion in six weeks. Black Opsgot close last year, hitting about $1 billion in six weeks. Pachter is already calling it as this year’s best-selling game.

He also predicts good things forCall of Duty: Elite, Activision’s social service: “We expect theCall of Duty: Elitepremium membership plan to be very popular withCoD’s hard core gamers. Elite is being bundled at a $10 discount with the underlying game, which may accelerate as many as 3 – 4 million subscriptions into 2011.”
