Overwatch’s devious little hamster Hammond is now playable

Awww Blizzard’s hamster-in-a-mechOverwatchhero Wrecking Ball has joined the live game. This newmobile tank herocan roll around, piledrive, lay mines, and use a grappling claw to swing himself up high to, say, focus down a pesky Widowmaker. I’m very much looking forward to that. As a Zenyatta player, I felt physical pain watching my boy get smashed in this video. Reminder:Overwatchis holding afree weekendstarting Thursday, July 26. And if you missed it,here’s a big galleryof Wrecking Ball’s current skins....

PlayStation may have just sent $10 to your PSN account

FREE MONEY! PlayStation Network users have taken to Twitter, NeoGAF, and other places stating that they’ve received a $10 credit to their PlayStation Network account. Along with the cash comes this nice little message saying “Thank you for being a loyal customer and fan of the PlayStation Network. As a token of our appreciation, we’ve sent you $10.00 to spend on the PlayStation Store!” It’s not quite clear exactly why certain users got the free money, and why others haven’t....

Podtoid 110: floppy bodies

I know this week’s episode of Podtoid isn’t aDouble Dragonmovie commentary like we promised, but certain parts of the podcast make up for it. I won’t specify for fear of spoiling them, but let’s just say they involve Samit. – I try to be fake-mean to Samit and it comes out sounding ridiculously real-mean –The Red Star: just as good now as it was a few years ago –Crimson SkiesandX-Wing vs....

Randy Pitchford: Battle royale games are fun, that’s not what we’re making

Live from PAX East The Gearbox PAX East panel just started and Randy Pitchford is still laying the teasers on thick. There are promises that they’re saving the best for last in the hour-long presentation. That’s not what we’re doing.” Well, there’s one theory debunked. We’ll be breaking out all the news as it happens....

Reshape planets with a friend in Astroneer

I’m so into this It’s morning still. I feel way too groggy to let out an audible “whoa!” while watching a trailer for a video game, butAstroneermanaged to elicit one anyway. Two, actually. It was the player-controlled terrain deformation that did it both times (not that the scenery isn’t also quite lovely; it is). This is a sandbox adventure about carving up and reshaping exotic worlds to unearth their precious artifacts and resources....

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a little easier on Lara (but still kicks the shit out of her)

At least she might learn something Lara Croft has never been the best archaeologist. Carefully digging for hours so as to not damage an artifact wouldn’t make for a very good video game. Still, there’s a disconnect when she knocks over human skulls that are perched on a ledge she wants up. That’s nothing compared to when she detonates explosives that destroy one of those tombs she should be raiding....

That being said, I know I am not the only one with this little fetish, as I can clearly see that Hot Topic is selling all kinds of trinkets having to do with the NES....
