Does Division 2 teaser point to franchise sequel?
Players tongues have been set wagging due to a mysterious Easter Egg in Ubisoft’s multiplayer shooterTom Clancy’s The Division 2. As first noted by YouTuberJorRaptor, the interior of the in-game Potomac Events Centre sports a range of posters for an upcoming show, titled “Valhalla” and featuring the image of a proud hooded warrior.
Eagle-eyed players have noticed, however, that the Viking appears to be grasping The Apple of Eden, the main plot device – or “MacGuffin,” as film wankers say – of theAssassin’s Creedseries. This has led players to suggest that the follow up toAssassin’s Creed Odysseywill be set in The Viking Age, which took place around 1000 A.D.

This find also ties in with aprevious reportby website Kotaku, in which two independent sources both stated that the horned-helmet berserkers would indeed be making their debut in theAssassin’s Creedfranchise. Said sequel is supposedly being developed under the working title of “Assassin’s Creed Kingdom” and is said to be scheduled for a 2020 release.
Of course, this is all just rumour and hearsay for now, nothing is etched in stone. But given the Kotaku report and thisDivision 2teaser, it looks likeAssassin’s Creedfans should probably start getting themselves measured up for a pair of furry boots and a massive doubled-headed axe.
