Sonic is king of the merch
As soon as it became evident that my daughter loved Sonic, I had zero trouble getting her merch for it. Everywhere I looked, even at random stores in the mall: they had it. I couldn’t escape it! I can vividly recall attending the event for the unveiling of theSonic Boomsub-IP, and toys were a huge focus of Sega’s pitch. So it totally makes sense thatSonic Prime(theupcomingNetflix series) is planning ahead.Sonic Primetoys are coming in 2023, according to the publisher.
Frequent-Sonic-toy-collaborator Jakks Pacific is in, with a newSonic Primetoys line that includes “action figures, playsets, vehicles, plush and other collectibles” based on the series. Naturally, costumes will play a part too, so Sonic and company can haunt your nightmares on Halloween.
As a recap,Sonic Primeis due out sometime in 2022 on Netflix, and other than all the info we can glean fromthese potential leaks, we don’t know much else, and we don’t have a full non-teaser trailer yet. That will change at some point, as Sega has been aggressively marketing Sonic in recent years, even starting their own “Direct”-like presentation series to announce new games and collaborations.
We also haveSonic Frontierscoming this year, so it’s going to be a blue 2022.
