Square Enix is suing the group that they believe leaked a press-only demo ofDeus Ex: Human Revolutionearlier this year. They claims copyright infringement and seeks damages in excess of $5000 from the group of 15 Italians.
Square Enix says that the accused logged into a protected portal where a demo of the game was hosted for press members only. They were able to do this with information they took from Italian games magazine GMC. They shared that log in information with the internet and it wasn’t long before the demo was up on torrent sites.Eurogamersays that Square Enix claims copyright infringement and seeks damages in excess of $5000.
