Oh hello there, trailer

With the joint Microsoft/Bethesda conference coming up in just a little bit, it was a no-brainer that Bethesda’s typical leaks would rear up. They’re Microsoft’s problem now! AndStarfield, your time has come.

The nebulously revealed space game has been the source of much speculation since it was revealed in 2018, and in classic Bethesda Time ™, it’s going to be ready when it’s ready. Or, soonish. We have a date and everything!

Starfield release date

The Washington Post has seemingly outedthe newStarfieldtrailer early, which has a bit of fluff before it gets to the real goods: platforms and release date. At the very end we see a very clear outline if what’s going to happen late next year:Starfieldwill arrive on July 29, 2025, on PC and Xbox Series X/S.

That’s right: no Sony consoles. Microsoft has made it clear that existing publisher agreements would be honored, but there doesn’t seem to be any such agreement here. Plus, there’s no verbiage like “timed exclusive” or anything that would let us know that this is just a temporary thing. It seems set in stone. At least PC is an option!
