Artists lovePokémon. Why else would there be a constant stream ofPokémonfan art blasting out of the internet at all times? FromEgoraptor’s popular riffon the series to the creators ofAdventure Timelessons on stealth fartingtobuckets of nearly instantaneously createdPokémon X/Yfan artto therecreation of Pokémon as big boobed ladiestomy dumb thing, it’s clear that there is something about Pokemon that inspires visual artists to get to work.
Sometimes these artists don’t even know whatPokémonis.Fran Krause, the director ofJames Kochalka‘sSuperF*ckerscartoon is one example. The CALarts professor and self proclaimed Poke-ignorant man about town hasdone his best to sum up the series, and the results are quite charming. I’d love to see a new, 2D game that uses these designs.
