September 20

Batman is back in action on September 20, whenTelltale’s seriesresumes with its second episode titled “Children of Arkham.” The foreshadowing is strong with this one if you recall a specific event from the first, where Bruce is talking about what to do with the asylum — I assume we’ll get some more insight into its potential destruction. If you can’t wait, Telltale is holding a “Crowd Play” preview event today at 8:30 PM PT at PAX West, where fans can vote on choices with their mobile devices.

Speaking of Batman, I’ve been diving into a few bits of media of his lately, both new and old. I picked up Broken City and read it for the first time (it’s decent!), read the Batman: Vampire trilogy (which is surprisingly good) and watched the newKilling Jokeadaptation (the first half is enh, the second half is fine). With the recent tease for Deathstroke for the DC film universe and Batman’s brief but welcome appearance in the incredibly mediocreSuicide Squad, he’s more relevant than ever.

As much as people are over-saturated with Bat-related stuff I’m a happy camper. He’s not my favorite superhero (that honor goes to Spider-Man), but he has one of the best collectives of villains outside of….well, Spider-Man.
