Give the gift of Smash

I was talking to a friend of mine recently about amiibo, and some of the ideas he came up with on how to use them are pretty interesting. Recently we’ve been training our own fighters with our best moves, and then pitting them against each other for fun. It’s a neat enough diversion to do every so often to break up constantSmashbattles.

But another concept he came up with is even better. He decided to give amiibo as gifts, but only after opening the box. Wait, what kind of second-hand gift is that? He explained that he opens the box, puts them into his the game, then trains them up himself — then he gifts them.

The idea is to give people their amiibo of choice, but put a lot of time and effort into it first to ensure that it’s a challenge out of the box. If they want to reset the toy that’s cool, but they have something unique thatno one else haswith that gift — an imprint of the gifter.

I have to admit, I’m going to totally steal this idea for the holidays!
