The titans didn’t fall
[Update:According toanalyst Daniel Ahmad, EA has confirmed thatApex Legendshas now broken 2.5 million unique players. The peak concurrent player count has reached around 600,000, which is staggering for a single day.]
Respawn Entertainment’sApex Legendssurprise launched, yesterday, after its reveal event. A battle royale game set in theTitanfalluniverse, there wasn’t much time to build hype when its trailer ended with “Available Now.” I wasn’t sure if people would take to the new title since it had stripped theTitanfallname, but it turns out I was wrong.

CEO of Respawn, Vince Zampella, Tweeted out thatApex Legendssurpassed one million unique players within eight hours of its launch. Most of the feedback I’ve seen is people claiming this is one of the best shooters in a long time. I’m not sure how I feel about the microtransactions, but the game is fun. I’m a little burned out on battle royale, but this seems to be fun, colorful and fast-paced.
Hopefully, the momentum doesn’t stop. It would suck for yet another Respawn project to bomb out, especially with how good its games are.

I’m so overwhelmed right now,@PlayApexbroke a million unique players in under 8 hours. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for showing up and being part of this with@Respawnyou are amazing!!pic.twitter.com/lvNgfwwKhl
