As the man said: ‘My Body is Ready’
[Update:The original leaked listing has now appeared onNintendo.co.uk. In addition, Lizardcube has issued atweetthat confirms the existence of unlockable “classic” characters and original soundtracks. The returning heroes (such as Max, Skate, and Dr. Zan) are playable in their old-school, 16-bit forms. A retail price of $24.99 USD was also confirmed.
The tweetdoes not, however, confirm the previously reported April 23 release date, and only suggests thatStreets of Rage 4is coming “soon.” You can check out a new “Retro Reveal” trailer at the foot of the article.]

A listing on the Australian Nintendo eShop has suggested that incoming brawlerStreets of Rage 4will be hitting storefronts (and faces) on April 23, at a price of around $38 AUD, or roughly $25 USD.
Thelistingincludes features such as “12 unique stages,” the ability to unlock and play as classiccharacters – such asSoR 2‘s Max and Skate – and the option to switch out the new OST with “the music of the originalStreets of Ragegames.” Considering the heartfelt nostalgia demonstrated by visual designer Lizardcube inWonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, these great-sounding features are more than believable.

Of course, noneof this has been confirmed byStreets of Rage 4publisher Dotemu, and as such should be taken with a pinch of salt. We will, of course, keep you updated should any official word be forthcoming. Honestly, I don’t think I could be more excited, given the pedigree on display inSoR 4‘steam of developers.
Streets of Rage 4is scheduled to launch this spring on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A physical edition is currentlyavailable to pre-orderfrom Limited Run Games.
