On occasion,WoWhas some of the most infuriating quests it wants you to do, and “Home is Where the Candle Is” is one of them. Going to the designated location to find Janky, in the quest, will yield nothing, so where exactly is he?
How to Find Janky for Home is Where the Candle is InWoW: The War Within
Following the quest marker will lead you directly outside of Cinderbrew Meadery, with no Janky in sight. Turns out, Janky isn’t actually at the quest waypoint the quest itself tells you to go to. Instead, Janky, along with Fourman Grimes, can be found inGundargaz, The Ringing Deeps(/waypoint 48, 35), standing next to each other inside the building you kicked coal into earlier.
Why the quest marker points to a location in the Isle of Dorm is beyond me. Even so, depending on where you are in the quest line, Janky and Fourman Grimes will potentially have another set of quests for you to accept, but at least you now know where they’re hiding out. Ironically, once you’ve accepted Janky’s quest, the original quest marker from Home Is Where the Candle Is, becomes accurate. Who knew?
These quests, along with Home is Where the Candle Is, are part of a very lengthy quest chain that I haven’t even finished myself yet. They involve helping both NPCs and completion will eventually lead to the conclusion of the Home Is Where the Candle Is. With this knowledge, Janky will hide from you no longer, so at least you’re able to now focus on the quests themselves.
