Just like The Taken King
Anyone who has sat out onDestiny 2thus far won’t have much trouble getting caught up whenthis fall’sForsakenexpansionreleases. Activision predictably has made the on-boarding process quite simple by introducing a new version of the game.
Destiny 2will receive a Legendary Collection on September 4 that’s made up of everything in the game to that point. It includes the base game,Curse of Osiris(the first expansion),Warmind(the second expansion), andForsakenwhich also releases on September 4. It’ll be priced at $60. The originalDestinydid this too with its base game, the year one DLC, andThe Taken King.

However, that’s only for players who want to buy into the past and present ofDestiny— not the future. Don’t worry, Activision has that figured out too. In June, Bungie revealed theAnnual Passwhich is essentially a season pass forForsakenbut it doesn’t actually include theForsakenexpansion; instead, it includes theBlack Armory,Joker’s Wild, andPenumbraexpansions which will launch between winter 2018 and summer 2019. The Annual Pass will cost $35.
Try to keep up with thecalculus.Forsakenruns $40 by itself. But there’s also aForsakenand Annual Pass bundle that’s priced at $70, and that represents a $5 savings over buying them individually. This all culminates inDestiny 2: Forsaken —Complete Collection. That’s a $100 version ofDestiny 2with everything from year one and year two. Weirdly, this is actually $5 more expensive than buying the Legendary Collection for $60 and the Annual Pass for $35.
